3949 LINDELL RISES FROM THE ASHES
Back in July 2012 the 3949 Lindell Apartment housed some 250 young professionals and SLU grad students. In matter of minutes they had lost their home and all their possessions when a fire in one of the apartments quickly spread, becoming a massive 5 alarm blaze.
Over 160 of firefighters from the city and county battled the blaze in 100 degree heat for hours as it quickly moved from the front of the building to the back.
Everyone inside safely escaped; two firefighters suffered minor injuries escaping the building as part of it collapsed.
A big chunk of Lindell Blvd in midtown was shutdown, as thousands came out to watch the massive blaze.
BoKal Construction was proud to be awarded the complete demolition, construction and rehab of the property. Within just 7 months after the fire, the building had risen from the ashes and was ready for partial occupancy.
BoKal's commitment to the project was lead by our determination to get those who were displaced by the fire back into the place they called home as quickly as possible. 3949 Lindell was rebuilt and better than before, with all units ready for occupancy in August of 2013, months ahead of the scheduled completion date.
